Antidotes for the Times
These are some of the ways I approach the challenges and possibilities that emerge when people, ideas, and systems meet:
Translating ideas into clear communication, thoughtful processes, and tangible action
Finding the connections between how an organization works behind the scenes and how it shows up in the world
Bringing curiosity, creativity, and a practical eye to complex challenges, making space for both new ideas and workable solutions
Drawing on different perspectives and experiences to question assumptions and discover possibilities that might otherwise be missed
Root System
Some of the experiences, places, and perspectives that have shaped how I work:
25+ years of experience across a diverse range of sectors, including nonprofit, technology, healthcare, education, hospitality, agriculture, finance and more
A career spanning marketing, communications, operations, research, events, customer service, program development, research and administration
Seven years as Head of Operations at a leading digital marketing agency in the UK, bringing together people, processes, and strategy
An MBA in International Organizations and a degree in Psychology, informing my interest in how people think, relate, make decisions, and work together
International experiences, including volunteering with humanitarian organizations and working alongside communities across Asia, Africa, and Latin America
A belief that the most useful answers rarely exist in isolation, and that the intersection of ideas from different parts of a system - or different systems altogether - can open up new ways forward
Education & Training
MBA in International Organization, 2015 - University of Geneva, Switzerland
BSc in Psychology, 2006 - University of British Columbia, Canada

Personal Note
I try to create some kind of magic every day for an imaginative 5-year-old method actor who wakes up every morning choosing to be a different animal, simply because he can.
I am a collector of books, the number of which I've read being much lower than the amount I own in collections housed on both sides of Canada as well as in the UK.
I like the idea of living completely off grid, but have very few of the necessary life skills required to actually do so.
